Featured Headset: Zulu Headset by Lightspeed

Wear a Better Headset! The new Zulu headset looks different because it is different. Made with magnesium and stainless steel it's extremely durable and yet weighs just over 13 ounces. Because of its unique ear cup design, Zulu has more total noise cancellation than any headset on the market. Simply put, you get broader noise attenuation over the entire audible range. Rather than concentrating purely on cutting decibels, our engineers looked at how pilots perceive noise at different frequencies. Their goal was to make the Zulu feel so much better than any other headset, that when someone put it on, the first words would be "Wow".

Features

  • ANR: Active cancellation over a deep, broad range of low frequency noise. Designed when worn to be the quietest headset on ever.
  • Front Row Center To Enhance Stereo: Front Row Center (FRC) gives you a theater-like listening experience, enhancing stereo sound reproduction so that audio seems to come from all around you, not just from your right and left.
  • Auto Music Mute To Quiet Auxiliary Devices: When radio communications come in from the panel, Auto MusicMute decreases the volume of auxiliary devices by 80%. This allows you to enjoy music through your headset without missing any important radio communications.
  • Stereo/Mono: Switchable to match the signal from your audio panel.
  • Connectivity: Bluetooth Enabled Allows wireless connection to Zulu from Bluetooth phones or other devices.
  • Cell/Music Connection: Wired interface for patching in cell phone, or music devices with supplied cables.
  • Magnesium Cups: Durable yet light weight that also is 10x more effective at blocking out high frequency noise without sacrificing comfort.
  • Stainless Steel Headband: Light and comfortable. Thin to eliminate top of canopy clearance problems.
  • Warranty: 5-Year. Parts and labor

Configurations

  • Zulu: straight cord, battery powered, dual GA plugs
  • Zulu P: straight cord, installed panel powered, single LEMO plug (same plug a Bose headset uses)
  • Zulu C: coil cord, battery powered, single U-174 plug
  • Zulu CP: coil cord, panel powered, single LEMO plug (same plug a Bose headset uses)

Leesi

For those of you that have missed Leesi being around I sincerely apologize! She is now 16 months old and boy is she a handful up here! I do from time to time bring her up in the mornings so if you want to catch her you have to stop in early and frequently, as I do not always know ahead of time when she will be coming. She is just into that inquisitive stage and wants to have "all of it". Oh wow! I just realized that she sounds like a lot of our customers..... Anyway, I thought you might all enjoy a recent pic of her so I will attach one or two for you to this page, and every so often I will update it for you so you can still watch as she grows Enjoy!

Russell

7/15/2010 UPDATE: Service will be reception type at:

  • Saturday, July 17, 2010
    1PM-3PM with refreshments
    Alliance Baptist Church Fellowship Hall
    8400 Park Vista Blvd.
    Ft. Worth 76137 [Map]

We will be makng a donation in his memory to American Hopsice and contributions can be made to the family or direct Information will be provided at service.

7/11/2010 UPDATE: My apologies for times we have been unavailable. Russell's bp dropping and breathing slowing, temp rising and we are within hours now of his passing. Nurse doesn't think he will make it past this morning. I will get back to everyone if they will just send a message through website so I have a record of their need. Thanks

All of you that have been praying for us, tolerating tears, offering hugs, and in general supporting us through this trying time are each and every one appreciated. So that you can stay up to date on his condition I will post on occassion where we are on the transplant, as often as there is change. Right now he is not doing well; we have frequent (at least twice a week) trips to the hospital for tests and labs, and when his ammonia levels climb, for treatment. But so far there isn't much going on as far as advancement on the list, which we can't get on (officially) until his dental work is completed; and the cheapest quote we have gotten for that is $3000, which of course we do not have. We are working with a VA Rep to have this deemed "service-connected" which would be wonderful for getting some income generating and, also, for furthering his priority standing. With the oldest two of our four kids graduating high school in December and March, we desperately need this to go through! While the shop has held its own, it was Russell's carreer that supported our household. Larry and Earlette (Mom and Dad) are helping as much as possible but have their own health concerns to accommodate.

Please keep us in your prayers that all will go well with the investigation and that the service connection will be approved, soon! You all have no idea just how much you contribute already with your encouragement and support. I will be forever grateful, I dont know how I would have made it this far without you! Still, many of you have asked about contributions and donations, and why I have not put up a jar for such kind gestures. The answer may seem silly to some of you but we are excrutiatingly aware of the economic impact this recession has had on all of you, as we struggle to survive it ourselves. I would feel just terrible if any of you felt, in any way, obligated to make a contribution, especially one that you could not afford, should we place something of that nature in the store. I would worry, also, that it would take privacy away from those that wished to remain anonomous. So I am attaching a link to a paypal account that has been set up for Russell for those of you wishing to extend such a kindness. I have been speaking with some of you about fund-raisers and your ideas have been outstanding! As soon as time allows I will try and put these ideas into action. I will keep you posted when that begins!
Love,
Brenda

Save This Man's Life

Update 10/21/09: We would like to thank Carrie Mylott for her help with our fundraising effort. Carrie has spent a good deal of time setting up a Facebook campaign for us that has been very successful thus far. Please check out our FB page here (requires you to be signed in to you FaceBook account, which is free), or search Brenda Shults (Addison Pilot Shop) for "my Causes", "Save This Man's Life". Thank you to those that have donated and I am sorry your effort for some reason is not showing up on the Cause counter system, I am trying to figure out how to fix that so that if you would like to see the progress, you can! There are no words to express our gratitude to those of you that have joined the cause!
